Lola July 17, 2013 for Model Number RBD305PDT14 This is a Whirlpool double oven. Was starting to turn on the oven when it "beeped" then panel went black. It beeped two more times then doors locked as if in cleaning mode. Shut power off at breaker to unit to unlock. Understand this could be either the Thermal Override or a bad control board. any way to test which one? Have replaced the TOD once before a few years ago but that time it gave an error message. This time completely black screen. Thanks.
1 Answer Lola, With the screen being completely dead and the unit locking itself, this issue would most likely be a faulty control board rather than a thermal overload. Read More...
Don June 16, 2013 for Model Number GMC 305 PDQG SER# XP0406206 Whirlpool Gold Accubake System Microwave (upper portion of unit/above oven) 2003 model just stopped heating items. It now makes a humming sound without heating things up. Can I fix it and what parts will I need. Thank you.
1 Answer Don, You will want to check the diode of the microwave to see if it is broken or blown. If the diode is bad it will cause a humming noise and no heat. Also check the resistance of the magnetron in which you should have less than .5 ohms resistance. Also check to make sure that the thermal fuse on the magnetron has continuity. Read More...
Henry May 27, 2013 for Model Number GBD307PDQ09 The oven display goes blank, but the buttons beep and the oven light turns on and off. After some time (usually days) the display will turn on and shows the correct time. After several hours or a day, the display will show the error codes E6 and F2 and then go blank again. This has happened several times, but now the display has been blank for a few weeks. If I try to turn the oven on I get one short beep, a long beep and then three short beeps. What is the most likely problem?
1 Answer Henry, The F2 E6 error code is an indication that the Cancel key drive line is open. Check the keypad connector for a firm connection. Press cancel if the error code returns after 60 seconds replace the keypad. If not then replace the control board. This issue sounds like the control board WPW10438751 would be the problem. Blaine May 19, 2013 for Model Number rbs307pvb00 After doing an oven self-clean, the oven no longer heats up, either the bake element or the broil element and the oven no longer heats up when trying to do another self-clean. The control panel seems to work OK, just no heating of any of the elements.
1 Answer Blaine, You will want to first check to make sure that there is power. Access the control board and check from L1 to bake to see if you are getting 240 vac with the unit set to bake. If you are then your control board is bad and will need to be replaced. If not then you will want to check to make sure that the thermal fuse is not open. Read More...
Eric May 18, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool oven rbs275pdb6 I replaced the thermal overload on the oven, and now the heating element and broiler work (they previously were not after using the self clean function). However, now the control board is not functioning properly. The bake element button will not go above 350 degrees. Whether you push the up or own portion, the degrees only go down. Same with the hour button. The minute button seems to work just fine, any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Eric. Try removing the ribbon cable from the control board and clean it rubbing alcohol and see if it starts to work. If not, then the control panel 4451333 is bad on the unit. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Bill B May 09, 2013 for Model Number GMC305PDS6 This is a microwave/oven combo. The microwave just started showing the following symptoms: when I start the microwave lights come on etc., however it does NOT warm up or heat food, plus there is a kind of burning rubber/plastic smell. I am thinking it could be the thermostat and/or cooling fan motor type of thing. Any comments, suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Bill. You will need to check the magnetron, diode, and HV transformer in the unit. The diode should only read in one direction. The magnetron, less than 1 ohm and no cracked magnets. If both are good, then the transformer is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Michael M. March 21, 2013 for Model Number GBS277PRB00 After replacing the bake element, then the control panel, there is 120vac on the wire connected to the thermal overload, but no 120vac on the bake element wire connected to the control panel. I isolated both bake element wires...continuity on both. What's next to fix the bake element not heating problem?
1 Answer Hello Michael. If there is no continuity through the overload, you will need to replace the overload WP9759243 on the unit. Read More...
Michael M. March 17, 2013 for Model Number GBS277PRB00 After sparks and separation of the baking element, I replaced the baking element. Now no bake heat. Broil element and control panel OK. New bake element continuity OK. Thermal fuse tested 20+ ohms. What else could be the problem? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Michael. If all the other parts are good, then you will need to order and replace the electronic control WPW10340935 on the unit. Read More...
Mark February 26, 2013 for Model Number rbd305pdq12 No power on panel have power going to it but nothing works should I change board or could the thermal overload cause this and should I change it first. Don't want spend money if I dont need to.
1 Answer Mark, If the control board has power getting to it then the thermal overload would not be the problem. You can test the thermal overload by doing a continuity test. No continuity means that it is bad but your problem will be in the control unit. Read More...
Robert February 12, 2013 for Model Number RBS245PDB14 What will cause the 4451442 thermal fuse to blow?
1 Answer Hello Robert. You need to check and see if the relay is stuck causing the element to stay on and blow the fuse. If so, you will need to replace the control in the unit. Read More...
