J. November 06, 2013 Unsure what part needs replacing. Top and bottom element heats, but not hot enough to cook biscuits. I noticed that the heat light comes on, but only for about 30-40 seconds, then goes off. Back on in about same amount of time, but off again in usually a min. or less. It's a Whirlpool smooth surface stove. Thanks for your assistance.
1 Answer Hello J., This usually means that one leg of voltage has been dropped. You could have a bad breaker, bad wiring between the breaker and the unit, or a component inside the unit has failed such a thermostat or relay on the board. I would be a lot better assistance with the model number of your unit so I can pull the wiring diagram. This would show me the components in the circuit and enable me to advise you of the test points to properly troubleshoot your unit. Read More...
Boris October 19, 2013 I have Kitchen Aid gas stove an about 5 years old.(can not read the model #) Suddenly a 3 month ago i found it takes long to reach a desire temperature. For instance if i established 400F it could stop at 250F. But some times it works ok. My opinion wrong temp.sencor or thermostat.I also bypassed high limit switch for cleaning mode.
1 Answer Boris, You will want to check the oven sensor resistance. The resistance should be approximately 1090 ohms of resistance at room temp of 77 degrees. Read More...
Mattg September 29, 2013 for Model Number WPRBD245PDS14 Whirlpool/Black Double oven is showing no LED's - Top. Light comes on and all the buttons beep. I have shut it off for 10 minutes - no change. The buttons beep and Light comes on for top/bottom. Once the oven started (without LED) and then it immediately stopped... So, is the control board gone or is it the Thermal fuse on the bottom or the Fuse on the top. Doesn't sound like the control board.. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, Mattg
1 Answer Mattg, If the control beeps when you hit the buttons but there is no display then you will want to check the transformer. There should be 120 vac going into the transformer and your test points for the transformer are on the control board Connector P16 pins 5 to 7 for 120 vac. Then check P16 pins 2 to 3 for 12 to 24 vdc. If there is power into the transformer but no power out then the transformer is faulty. If there is no power to the transformer then the control board is the issue. Read More...
Dan September 16, 2013 for Model Number Kitchen aid electric oven After running self clean cycle the oven will not heat. Same problem happened last November 2012 and I replaced the thermal overload which I purchased from you. Same problem occurred again. Any solution to this problem and how long is the part under warranty for? Thanks, Dan
1 Answer Hello Dan. If the thermal overload is bad, you have a 1 year warranty on the part. If it is bad, you may want to look at replacing the oven sensor in the unit as well. Read More...
Claude September 12, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Wall Oven model No. GBS277PDB11. RE: Whirlpool Wall Oven model No. GBS277PDB11. My wife just finished cleaning the oven (self-cleaning); it worked OK. Now both of the elements do not heat up. Checked all the (useless) suggestions in user manual and checked the circuit breaker. Clock works, light works, panel lights up and allows setting the controls – but neither element works.
1 Answer Hello Claude. You need to test the thermal overload WP9759243 and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Boss August 21, 2013 for Model Number GBD307PDQ09 Hi, My built in cabinet oven won't heat up and the digital display does light up. What's wrong with my oven. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Boss. Check and see if the control panel fuse WP4451042 is bad. If so, replace it. If not, and there is power coming to the board, but no display, you will need to replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Scott August 17, 2013 for Model Number C-970-512121 Kenmore Oven. I was making something in the oven when I heard a small pop, and it shut down. The elements work great, but the display is completely blacked out (therefore I can not control the oven). There is a white cylindrical "starter" for the light in the oven that has a small scorch mark on it, would that have caused the Thermal Fuse to blow or do you believe the board is fried? My parents are super broke and we're really hoping we can fix this thing, your help is very much appreciated. =)
1 Answer Scott, The model number listed is not showing up as a valid model and we would need for your to recheck the model and Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Jim July 31, 2013 for Model Number rmc275pvb01 Followup to previous question. If the top element is not heating, but the bottom element is heating - does that eliminate the thermal overload as a possible problem? The control board is $260 and I want to be sure that is what is causing the problem before I buy it. Is there a way to test the control board?
1 Answer Hello Jim. It sounds like the board. You can test for the board sending power to the element. If not, the board is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim July 30, 2013 for Model Number rmc275pvb01 The upper heating element in the oven failed spectacularly one evening during over preheat. It was burnt through in one spot and clearly needed to be replaced. So I replaced it, but the oven still won't preheat or heat. The control panel seems to work fine. What is wrong?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the control WPW10438710 on the unit. Element shorted it. Read More...
