David December 05, 2014 for Model Number 110209422992 Everything works fine except when the spin cycle starts, the machine starts filling with water from the valve for about 5 seconds and then stops. Does this sound like a water valve issue? Thank you
1 Answer Hello David, If your model number is 110.20942992, the issue can be either the water temperature switch 661615 or (more likely) the water level switch W10335056. Read More...

Joe P October 22, 2014 for Model Number wbvh6240fww Can the water inlet valve be installed with the solenoid facing down. The original GE part they are facing up but are very expensive. I can buy an identical part with the valves turned down for 1/4 the price. thanks
1 Answer Joe, The valve can be installed with the coils in the downward position but it is recommended to have them upright. This is for the purpose of, if there is a leak the water would drip onto the electrical connections. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Robert. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...

Kate September 01, 2014 for Model Number KAWS577EQ0 We are getting a little water under the washing machine when we use it. It's not a huge amount, but obviously not right. The washer sits on concrete and it is wet near the front. Any ideas what this might be? Washer is 16 years old.
Betty August 17, 2014 for Model Number ETW4400XQ0 My washer will not fill with water. I have cleaned all the intake hose screens.
1 Answer Hello Betty. Test for power to the water valve. If there is power there, then replace the water valve. If there is no power there, then check the pressure switch in the unit. Also, make sure the temp switch is good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ltbird August 16, 2014 for Model Number LSQ9550PW2 The cold water surges on fill, both for wash and rinse cycles. At times it can be quite strong. What could the problem be? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello! This unit is designed to run cold/hot or both at the same time, depends on the cycle you select. The manufacturer designed this way so that the water temperature is at an optimum range to activate the suds in the detergent. Hope this makes sense! Read More...
Keith G August 10, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool washing machine I purchased a water inlet valve for a whirlpool LSC8244eq1 washing machine. When I took the old one off I forgot to label the connections. I realize the red connector is for hot, and white is cold. Does it matter which way I re-connect the new inlet valve. I think there are (2) wires on one of the hot and cold connections. Which one goes on top, and which one goes on the bottom if you are looking at it from inside the washer. I realize the hot is on bottom. But the connectors one has (2) wires on it for the hot and cold. So I just need to know which one goes on top, and which one goes on bottom for both the hot and cold connections. If I could find a wiring diagram I am sure it would tell me..Many thanks
Annie July 26, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool When washer is filling up the water continues to run in to tub after the washer starts to wash. I have to cut water off manually or the room will be flooded. What causes this?
1 Answer Annie, If you can unplug the unit and the water shuts off then the issue would be in the controls of the unit sending power to the valve when it should stop. If the water still continues to run with unplugged then the issue would be in a faulty water valve that is stuck open. Read More...
