The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It controls the flow of hot and cold water into the washer. This component is crucial for starting the wash cycle, as it opens to allow water to enter and closes to stop the flow once the appropriate level is reached, ensuring efficient wash performance.

Causes of a bad Water Inlet Valve can include mineral deposits and sediment build-up, which can obstruct the flow of water, or mechanical failure such as a broken solenoid that prevents the valve from opening or closing properly.

Symptoms of a bad Water Inlet Valve include:

  • Water not filling the tub at the beginning of the cycle
  • Water leaking from the valve
  • Washer not starting due to inability to fill
  • Unusual noises from the valve area during operation

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM9283632)

Hello Daniel. Check and make sure the screens are not clogged. If they are clear and the water comes out good from the hoses, you will check the water valve and the pressure switch to see if they are bad. If there is power to the water valve and no water, you will need to replace the valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Rafael, The water inlet valve would have no effect on the unit not spinning or draining. When you turn it to spin, if you hear the motor humming but not doing anything then the issue would most likely be caused by a stuck contact in the timer in which the timer would need to be replaced.

Galen for Model Number LSR5132PQ0

Mod LSR5132PQ0 Type 111 Serial # CR3106905 MFG Date (guess) 21-07-2004 Breif background of machine: Machine functioned flawlessly for first 2 years after which: 1) It was transported by a poorly-operated moving service. 2) It was stored in an unheated garage for approximately 1 year and further stored in a home basement up until April 29th, 2014. 3) While in storage, the "Load Size" selector mechanim's switch stem and knob were broken-off. 4) After some disassembly for access purposes, I carefully re-attached the internal "Load Size" mechanism's stem using a powerful adhesive, and then, after reassembly, re-mounted the "Load Size" knob on the "Load Size" mechanism's stem. 5) Finally, I attempted to run the machine in order to perform a full 'test wash' cycle--a complete test run of both "Normal" and "Casual" settings, and in both "Small" and "Large" load settings . Here is what I observed regarding my attempts with "step 5": A) The machine fills non-stop--to the point of overflow--unless manually halted. B). Even when manually set to the 'agitate' portion of a cycle, the machine will not agitate. Instead: silence. C). However (in both "Casual" and "Normal" modes), when manually set to final "Spin" the machine seems to properly spin until emply and automatically shuts down. In response to the above "A" and "B", here is what I did: First: I removed the clear plastic "pressure"? / "vacum"? tube that attaches to the "Load Size" internal mechanism. Then I alternately appied pressure and vacum to the tube, and did the same to the point of connection on the "Load Size" mechanism--where the tube attaches, and then re-attached the tube to the "Load Size" mechanism. Then (while still inside the front control panel), I double-checked all mult-circut connections / jacks that connect the machine with both the "Load Size" control mechanism and the "Regular / Casual" cycle / dial, control mechanizm. Alas, my efforts have had no effect: the machine still malfunctions in the same manner previously describe. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank You, Galen

Hello Galen. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.
