Richard N Lawrenceville , GA January 02, 2015 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR RF266AERS/XAA Vertical hinged section replacement Part# DA97-12683D (AP5651833) Vertical Hinged Section received from AppliancePartsPros was listed as the correct replacement part for Samsung Refrigerator Model #RF266AERS/XAA, however it is actually incompatible with that model. The part I received from AppliancePartsPros was the correct part number for the order, but the 3-wire plastic connector didn't fit. Samsung may have changed the design and still listed the part as compatible, however the 3-wire connector didn't snap in place correctly in either direction. Everything else looked the same as the old part. I could have rewired the new part with the old connector, but would have preferred to have the correct connector on the part. The original part number is DA97-07276E, but AppliancePartsPros (Kandace) indicated that part has been discontinued and they didn't carry it but would send the issue to the research team. AppliancePartsPros (Ashlee) reviewed my order and recognized that the issue was due to the factory and promptly issued a return shipping label for the order. I was able to find the correct original Part No. DA97-07276E on another appliance web site for a higher price, but it fit correctly when I installed it. Next, make sure you don’t just need a new spring, which costs just a few dollars and can be purchased separately from this site. Over the years, however, the hinge can wear which then prevents the spring from seating properly. If that occurs, or if there is some sort of major damage to the flap, then the entire part needs to be replaced. One last tip: to replace the entire flap, simply remove the two screw caps in the center hinge which exposes the two Phillips screws that holds this entire assembly. After removing the two screws, the assembly slides UPwards from tabs that hold the outer hinges. (Do NOT try to pry off the outer hinges!)
