This bi-metal is the thermal actuator that releases the detergent dispenser at the proper point in the wash cycle. Replacing a weak or failed actuator restores reliable detergent cup opening and consistent detergent delivery for better cleaning. What it does:

- Can leave detergent in the cup and lead to poor cleaning results
- Often suspected when the cycle runs but the soap door stays closed
What's included:
- 1 bi-metal actuator assembly
Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
- Remove the inner door panel to access the dispenser area
- Note wiring positions and orientation; transfer connectors securely to the new actuator
- The dispenser latch/linkage moves freely and test door release before reassembly
This part fixes the following symptoms

Symptoms of a bad dispenser include:
- Detergent not dispensing or only partially dispensing during cycles
- Residue left inside the dispenser after washing

Dishwasher not drying dishes properly Duwaun D. • Chesterfield , MI • October 06, 2018
Ordered 3 parts dealing with heating and drying dishes. Thermostat and heating coil were ordered and installed separately but did not fix the problem. The final control panel repair fixed the problem. Videos explaining how to install the parts were great. Something that would be very helpful would be to include in the videos how to test each part with a voltmeter to ensure it was good before purchasing the part. I found this information elsewhere after I had needlessly ordered two parts...

The unit arrived within a week, and the replacement was easy as I followed the direction from the instruction video on this site. Now I expect to use this dishwasher for another ten years.
