Easy to replace with the shield and paddle assembly. Steps are: 1. use a flat head screwdriver to push the tabs at the base of the control panel. remove the wire connectors by gently prying them straight off. 2. remove the 4 phillips screws holding in the old assembly. 3. Install the new assembly by carefully putting the paddle behind the water pipe that sticks out. The easiest repair I've ever done. I originally thought (after watching some youtube tutorials) I would need to replace the spring on the flap, but it is not accessible on our Samsung model. Undid the two screws holding the flap to the fridge door, pop it up off the other supports, and un-clip it from the power cord. Put the new flap on the same way and all done! My husband unscrewed the broken railing and slipped in the new railing and screwed it in place. The new snack drawer was then sled in. The screw they provided was tight but after twisting it a few times went into the railing hole fine. Read more

The manual had instructions for pulling things apart, the flaps over the drawer tops and the clear plastic inserts in the shelf. Flaps--Easiest to work with when the shelf is out and upside down. Slide flaps to the side a little to release the axle pin on the flaps from the receptacle hole on the shelf frame. Clear plastic plates are held in with a plastic pin on the side of the shelf frame.
