I removed the spillover grille, unscrewed two Phillip's screws, pulled off the dispenser cover, unclipped the wiring harness in back of the cover and set the cover aside. This exposes the works behind the cover. It was easy to see that the switch which controls the ice dispenser was not being held firmly in place. Replaced the relay as it had slightly smoldered insulation edges. But then it turned out the fan motor (evap) had burned out, because the fan blade had shifted on the motor axis until it got blocked by a screw. Replaced evap motor and fan blade and everything works again! As the new fan blade now has a metal strip preventing unduly shift, this should never happen again (or in other words the original fan blade was of faulty design.) I found the correct part on the website that I needed very easily and received it within two days with only regular shipping. The email I received letting me know that my parts were on the way also included a YouTube link that showed me exactly how to remove the broken part and install the new part.
