Replace the lock assembly: Open the lid and remove four philips screws from underneath the gasket. Carefully and patiently remove all of the gasket clips, first from the left and right sides then remove all but two from the top so when the final one comes out the panel and gasket can come towards you and then set gently in the top of the freezer. This was tricky. The first thing I should have done was unplug the freezer and reset the control board. Instead, I checked the voltage to the fan, (none), voltage to the control board (good), and continuity of the temp sensor (good). Figured bad control board...ordered part. Then pulled freezer away from wall (why I hadn't unplugged it first - a real pain), unplugged and "replugged."it. This reset board and the fan started working. Still no cooling. The square shaft was broken off in the recessed hole of the freezer door lock and would not allow the key to engage it to turn and lock the freezer door. R and R of door lock assy was necessary but not easy-it was accessed through a 1/2" X 1.5" slot in the inner ledge of the door that the hook from the lock protruded through to lock the door. I removed the lock retaining clip through the slot, slid the lock assy out, replaced it with the new assy and replaced the clip. All with curved... Read more
