This run capacitor helps start and keep the motor running smoothly by providing the necessary phase shift and torque boost. A weak capacitor can cause hard starting, humming, or intermittent motor operation.
- Supplies continuous phase shift to maintain motor rotation
- Helps the motor start reliably under load
- Symptoms can include humming, slow or no start, or overheating shutdown
- Restores normal operation when the original capacitor has weakened
What's included: One 23.5 µF run capacitor Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; discharge the old capacitor safely
- Note wire locations and transfer leads to the new capacitor one-by-one
- Mount securely in the original bracket or location to prevent vibration
- If the motor still won't start, further diagnosis of the motor or start device may be required

Dishwasher would start begin to fill with water then there would be 4 5 short "hums" or "buzzes" it would then shut off and drain what water had filled John S. • Granite Falls , MN • September 19, 2017
Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). Unit now works fine. Overall an easy fix once you get the washer out and tip it on its side or top to get access to the motor area.
