If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it. After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. Even though I never touched a wash machine, I was able to fix mine after I came across APP site. Replaced the "PCB Assembly, Main" and it works great now. I got instructions by searching online. The replacement was pretty easy for an average DIYer. The hardest part was disconnecting the cables from the initial circuit board. Read more
We also noted 2 things: 1) to make it work, the longer it was unplugged, the longer it would work; 2) 'burned' smell near capacitors on the board. Easy replacement: one screw in the back, then the feet slide into position. The most difficult part is getting some of the wire harnesses unplugged because you're at bad angles. Just remember that every plug has a release you need to squeeze before it'll move. Read more
