Full disassembly of removable tray into top plate (stainless) and lower pan taking care not to loose fasteners. Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Ceramic light receptacle socket for cooktops. Replace when bulb connection fails or socket shows heat damage. Verify fit with your model number.
Took apart the burner unit and replaced burned spade. Did not need the receptacle, so returned it, but did have to order the contact and lead wire that burned out in it, and what really caused the whole problem. That will be covered in another repair note for that part. Read more

Replaced wire harness that is terminated in a contact-shoe in one of the two terminal blocks in the cooktop. Also replaced cracked burner-indicator lights as cooktop was disassembled to affect the terminal-block repair. All replacement parts fit properly and worked well. The greatest amount of time was disassembling and re-assembling the cooktop. Shoulder screw that secures oven components with a precise pivot or spacer point. Replace if missing, worn, or stripped to restore alignment and stability.
I had to remove the oven door, which I learned is made to come off without tools. Then took out the bottom by removing two screws and lifting. Removed the screws attaching the igniter, pulled wires thru back until I could get the connector and disconnect. When the new igniter arrived, I had to change the connector. I cut the one off the old one, and spliced to the new one using solder and shrink tubing. Just reverse the procedure to install. I replaced the screws with new ones. Read more
