The Fuse is an OEM part for Whirlpool microwaves. It is a crucial safety component designed to protect the microwave from electrical surges and potential short circuits by breaking the circuit if the current flow exceeds safe levels.
Causes of a bad microwave fuse can include electrical surges, faulty wiring, or normal wear and tear over time. A blown fuse will render the microwave inoperable, as it cuts off the power supply to prevent further damage or hazards.
Symptoms of a bad microwave fuse include:
- The microwave not powering on
- The microwave stopping mid-operation
- No response from the control panel or keypad
- Sudden loss of power during use
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Microwave had no power and no lights Matthew H. • Rocky Hill , CT • October 25, 2016

This replacement capacitor restores stable electrical timing and motor/run performance in compatible Whirlpool appliances. It helps the appliance start and run smoothly when the original capacitor has failed or weakened. What it does:
- Provides the stored charge needed for motor start/run circuits and control timing.
- Helps prevent motor hum, slow starts, or failure to start when the capacitor is failing.
- Reduces erratic cycling or intermittent operation caused by a weak capacitor.
- Supports reliable operation of blower, fan or small motor circuits that rely on a dedicated capacitor.
What's included: One capacitor. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance at the source before accessing electrical components.
- Capacitors can hold charge—discharge safely before touching terminals.
- Use insulated tools and avoid shorting terminals; verify correct fit and secure connections.
