Microwave not heating food? A faulty high voltage diode disrupts power conversion. Common DIY repair requiring discharge safety and multimeter testing.
After dismounting the unit from its wall-hanging bracket, the most tedious part of the repair was removing over a dozen screws holding the cover in place from the top, bottom, and both sides. Fortunately, I had placed the unit on a bench that allowed me to slide the unit allowing access to the screws on the bottom edges of the unit. Always discharge the capacitor before continuing to work on the unit by discharging the capacitor by shorting the contact without the diode to ground. Access to the... Read more
Fix a microwave that runs but won't heat or won't start when door closes. This door switch is a common fix—most DIYers replace it in 15 minutes.
Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. The last one tested (of course the last one) NO (normally open) did not show resistance; I.e. the ohm meter reading did not change when the switch was depressed. Appliance parts pros was the only company that had the same model number I was looking for (SZW-V16-FD-63). I ordered the relay switch, 2 days later it arrived (regular... Read more
Microwave won't power on or turn on? Failed thermostat causes complete power loss. This safety part protects against overheating. DIY repair in 30 minutes.
I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. I then noticed a burn mark on the plastic connector sleeve for the one above the magnetron. I took a scrap piece of 14 gage copper wire and beat the ends flat with a... Read more
Captures grease and prevents ventilation buildup in your microwave. Replace when clogged or damaged to maintain airflow. Confirm fit with your model number.
Well, I gotta say I was happy to find you still had parts for almost 20 year old microwaves. The microwave itself worked fine, so I hated to have to buy a new one, but I just couldn't take being hit in the head anymore; and my fix of using string and wire to tie it to the surrounding cabinets was unsightly to say the least. I'm glad I did some research and found this part - all I had to do was pop it in place and now the vent grill is secure. Problem solved with minimal cost. Read more

Secures microwave to mounting bracket. Replaces stripped, cross-threaded, or missing cage nuts. Installs inside cabinet housing for stable installation.
I took the machine screws out of the outer panel for the right side only. Then pull the panel back a bit to release the lips from the front of the machine and had immediate access to the internal assembly that housed mounting nut. Order the new parts from AppliancePartsPro.com during the Thanksgiving week. Still received via FedEx in short time due to their same day shipping - which was greatly appreciated and surprising. Most small part places take a while to get the product out the door,... Read more
If your microwave won't start, runs with the door open, or has a flickering light, a faulty door switch is likely the cause. DIY repair in 15 minutes.
Utilized a YouTube video to isolate the door switches as the issue. These were easily identified following the isolation process and simple testing. I ordered a door switch and secondary switch on Monday and they arrived on Tuesday via FedEx. 15 Minutes to re-install, re-assemble cover and the unit was working fine. A very good experience with parts availability and shipping. Read more
Microwave has no power or won't start? A faulty cavity thermostat often causes complete shutdowns. This part restores temperature control in 5-10 minutes.
Controls your microwave's door mechanism for safe operation. Replace this switch if the lever is cracked, broken, or worn to restore proper door function.
Microwave fan stopped or making noise? This blower wheel restores proper airflow and cooling. Common fix for overheating units. DIY repair in 20 minutes.
The fan that cools the main unit had started making noise a few weeks ago, I tried cleaning and lubricating the bearings, but the fan would make noise when it heated up, then finally stopped. I replaced the fan, it was up and running within 20 minutes of receiving the parts. Read more
If your microwave runs but won't heat, a failed magnetron capacitor may be the cause. This high-voltage component stores energy for the magnetron.
Converting your microwave to outside venting? This main damper assembly controls airflow direction for proper exhaust ventilation in over-the-range units.
