This bimetal gas control valve regulates gas flow to the oven burner as part of the ignition circuit, helping ensure safe light-off and steady, reliable heat so your range reaches and maintains the set temperature.
- Regulates gas to the burner in response to the igniter/thermostat signal
- Bimetal safety design keeps gas closed until proper ignition heat is present
- Helps maintain consistent heating once the burner is lit
- Can address cases where the igniter glows but the burner won't light
- Resolve ovens that heat intermittently or take unusually long to preheat
What's included: 1 bimetal gas control valve. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off gas supply before servicing.
- Note valve orientation; transfer any required fittings/orifices from the original.
- Use approved gas-rated thread sealant on NPT threads only; never on flare connections.
- After installation, leak-test all joints and verify proper ignition and burner operation.

Oven gas valve was shot on our Viking. Only lighting one oven burner. Richard E. • Vernal , UT • March 12, 2014
I knew it was the oven gas valve, because I replaced both igniters with fresh ones and only one igniter would glow. So I ordered up a new gas valve, it shipped quickly and arrived on time. It only took me a few minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. This made all of the bakers in the house happy again. Thanks much for the prompt shipping and getting me the right parts!

A flat hot-surface ignitor that replaces a worn oven ignitor to restore reliable burner ignition. Heats to ignition temperature so gas burners can light more consistently and help the oven reach operating temperature. What it does:
- Heats to a high temperature to ignite the oven or range gas burner
- Common failure symptoms: oven won't light, long ignition delay, or intermittent ignition
- Direct replacement for flat-style hot-surface ignitors used in compatible gas ovens and ranges
- Matches electrical connector and mounting style of the original flat ignitor design
What's included: One flat hot-surface ignitor. Install notes:
- Always shut off electrical power and the gas supply before starting repair
- Handle the ceramic element carefully — it is fragile; avoid touching the element surface with bare hands
- Verify connector/wire compatibility and use the original mounting hardware or manufacturer-recommended fasteners

Oven wouldn't heat properly John V. • Agua Dulce , CA • June 12, 2015
I researched online and found it was common to have ignitors go out after 5 years of use. I ordered both as recommended and proceeded with the repair. I had a difficult time removing the door from the Viking and went back to read on the internet. I found several posts that referenced the door did not have to be removed. Once that was established the repair went very smoothly. The front screw on the left igniter required an angled screwdriver but other than that it was very fast and straight...

This listing is for a Viking oven bottom pan assembly. The oven bottom pan sits above the flames in the bottom section on specific models of Viking gas ovens. Their intended use is for stopping grease and other food byproducts from stoking the fire from the gas igniter. This model of Viking gas seems to have a few specific indicators that could signal a damaged bottom pan. There could be a possible gas smell coming from the oven and a sound of popping flames. This is because the pan is moving, allowing more gas fumes to exit the appliance. The flames popping are most likely from liquid spilling onto the igniter area. Always unplug the range from any electrical outlet and gas sources before beginning repairs. Wear gloves when working around the range area and look out for sharp edges. This is a genuine OEM part and is sourced individually from the original manufacturer. This part is compatible with Viking, KitchenAid, and Whirlpool appliances.

Insulation was missing from the underside of the oven pan Carole G. • Wiggins , MS • September 10, 2014
I was able to obtain the Viking brand insulation through Appliance Parts Pros. Once received, I simply cut it to size, unscrewed the flame spreader from the bottom of the oven pan, inserted it and replaced metal part. Simple. This was just one of many items I've repaired over the years with the help of APP.
