Upon examination of the dryer, I noticed that the belt was intact, though a little worn and hard. However, I noticed that the belt had came of the idler pulley. Piece of cake...replaced bearing support and bearing glides. Video helped. Only issue is unclear about what glides need to be ordered and where they go. Had to look at another sight video. Grey glides go on top and nylon glides go on each side at the bottom. So you order two grey and two white glides. You also need a TORX driver to get the control panel free. So this and a Phillips Head #2 screwdriver and you are home free. Read more

Replaced belt, pulley with a 4 grove pulley. Pulley that was on there was a 3 grove pulley, Had to cut the old one off, Press on to shaft. Replaced rear drum bearing. Bearing was locked on with a snap ring. Access to it from a removable plate on the back side of dryer. Reset belt and idler puller by removing a long back plate on the bottom rear side of the dryer. My GE dryer from the late 80's/early 90's was squealing when it would start up, belt or bearing I was thinking. I found a manual online that covered my model and I watched a video on this site that showed me how to take it all apart, mine was a bit different but the principles were the same. I took it apart and added some quick-disconnects to 2 wires so next time I can take the front panel off easily.
