Noisy microwave stirrer motor Gary H. • Manteo , NC • June 05, 2016
I opened up the microwave where the noise was coming from. I searched the web to confirm this part could be failing and found the part name and number on appliancepartspros.com. I ordered the part on Monday and it was in my mailbox 2 days later. Two screws and two wire connectors later and the old one was out. I installed the replacement part and everything worked great, no more grinding noise.

This microwave thermostat is a temperature-sensitive safety switch that helps protect the unit from overheating. When the preset limit is reached, it interrupts power to the affected circuit to help prevent damage and erratic shutdowns.
- Monitors temperature at its mounting location and opens the circuit if overheating is detected
- Helps protect internal components from excessive heat
- Common symptoms of a failed thermostat include: unit shuts off during cooking, won't start until it cools down, or has no power/no heat due to an open safety
- Replace if the original tests open when it should be closed
What's included: One thermostat Install notes:
- Disconnect power by unplugging the unit or switching off the circuit breaker before servicing
- Microwaves contain a high-voltage capacitor that can retain a dangerous charge; only qualified persons should service and discharge the capacitor
- Note wire locations before removal and transfer connections firmly to the new thermostat
- Mount the thermostat securely and in the same position to ensure proper temperature sensing

This evaporator fan motor assembly circulates cold air through the refrigerator compartment to help maintain even cooling and proper temperature control. Replacing a failed fan restores airflow and helps the appliance cool correctly. What it does:
- Moves air across the evaporator coil so the refrigerator/freezer can cool efficiently
- Commonly replaced when there is little or no airflow from the fresh-food or freezer section
- Can stop excessive frost build-up on the evaporator caused by poor circulation
- May reduce unusual noise if the original motor bearings have failed
- Helps prevent uneven temperatures that can cause food spoilage
What's included:
- One evaporator fan motor assembly as shown
Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
- Access may require removing interior panels or the evaporator cover
- Handle the fan blades carefully to avoid bending or cracking; ensure proper blade seating on the motor shaft

Intermittent shutoff from thermal cutout on ge microwave Joseph B. • Sterrett , AL • August 09, 2016
The microwave was shutting off after operating fine for a minute or two. Found that the fan that cools the magnetron had its fan blade assembly spinning free on the fan motor's output shaft. Tried to epoxy the two and failed. Ordered a new fan assembly and it is fixed.

- Can stop ignition or cause the oven/range not to heat when failing
- Commonly replaced when burners won't stay lit or control shows ignition-related errors
What's included:
Install notes:
- Turn off electrical power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
- Handle the sensor and its connector carefully to avoid damage
