Emailed Appliance Parts Pros.com with my problem and was advised that I needed to install an updated drain hose with a larger inlet opening. I ordered the part and installed it about 24 hrs ago and it's still working like it's supposed to. I ended up using a 3/4" wood bit to get the old drain inlet out because the rubber was too stiff to pull/push it out. Once I drilled out most of the rubber, I was able to pull it out with pliers. Replaced the relay as it had slightly smoldered insulation edges. But then it turned out the fan motor (evap) had burned out, because the fan blade had shifted on the motor axis until it got blocked by a screw. Replaced evap motor and fan blade and everything works again! As the new fan blade now has a metal strip preventing unduly shift, this should never happen again (or in other words the original fan blade was of faulty design.)
