First attempt was to replace the door latch mechanism...didn't fix it. Kept researching and the washer control knob had been hard to turn so it seemed logical that was the problem. Also, at some point the end cap had broken. As it has the main grounding point inside it and as I was taking the control panel apart anyway it made sense to replace it. Read more

This genuine OEM part is a timer for washers. The timer is the part that allows the washer to start and stop after being in use for a amount of time. The settings of the timer are controlled by the user and will adjust automatically depending on the desired settings. If the washer is no longer stopping after the desired time has elapsed, the timer might need to be replaced. To replace the timer, start by making sure the washer is unplugged. After that, pull the washer away from the wall to access the back panel. Once accessed, remove the screws that attach to the back panel and locate the timer. Once located, remove the mounting screws that hold it in place. Proceed to pull the timer out of the washer, and replace it with the new part. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand washers.
I opened the panel where the washing machine timer was, squirted electrical contact cleaner in any opening I could find while rotating the knob through the cycles (with the unit unplugged of course!). I then squirted silicone lubricant around the center shaft of the timer while again rotating through the cycles. Electrical contact cleaner tends to 'dry out' lubricants, and I needed to restore lubrication to the main moving part. The repairs were made about three weeks ago. So far so good. ... Read more
Vertical spring adjuster insert.
Watched a few of your videos and ordered the springs and a insert, and actually got the parts right. I am not a Appliance repair guy but I am retired and I am pretty handy so I thought what the heck. I watched the videos, a lot of common sense, common tools, and plenty of time. My knuckles are busted up and a little blood, but I got it done. Was actually kind of rewarding. Works like a champ. The Videos, ARE AWESOME. Read more
This washer switch is both the lid lock and lid switch. New mounting bracket replaces older design. I unplugged the power source to the appliance. I unscrewed 2 screws and unplugged the lid switch. I replaced the old switch with the new switch and screwed in the same 2 screws that held the old switch in place and plugged the new lid switch back in under the lid. that's it . I plugged in the washer and started a load of clothes. works just fine. NO HUGE REPAIR BILL. Gosh it makes me happy to do such a simple repair to my old machine and for a very reasonable part price, my washer is... Read more

The agitator stopped functioning and there was a squeaking sound occurring in agitation mode. I found that if I cranked down on the agitator cap, screwing in as hard as I could, the agitator would work briefly, then the cap would loosen and agitator stop moving. I removed the agitator cap, along with which came the agitator stud cap and a rubber washer/seal which was jammed up into the underside of the cap. I lifted out the agitator from the drum and inspected it and the hub best I could.... Read more
