During inspection I found that the compressor start capacitor was burned and it burned one of the wires off. We have a lot of power outages in our area and my guess is a power surge caused the capacitor to fail. I replaced the capacitor and the unit now cools. The capacitor is difficult to get to. I had to disassemble most of the air conditioner to access it. Read more
We purchased a pc board from appliancepartspros.com and replaced the original pc board. We had no problems and it was working right away! Read more
Unplug unit first be careful there are sharp edges. not a bad repair had to pull unit half way out of window to access the board. took longer to get to the part because of all the screws but they are all the same size witch makes it easy to put it back together. just have to plug a bunch of wires in took them off one at a time so as not to mix them up some had glue around them i used a small soldering iron to carefully remove it and they came off easy. took about an hour but well worth the...
