Ordered control panel and run capacitor and compressor relay (or controller as they call it). Control panel was the problem but after 10 years of running never hurts to replace a capacitor and relay. Read more

Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more

My 10 year old frig door was hanging down to the point it wasnt fully closing and sealing unless you picked up on it. I ordered a lower hinge bracket, upper and lower bearing, and spacer. Volt Ohmmeter test indicated defrost thermostat and heater were OK. Defrost voltage measured ~25 VAC. I ordered all the most likely repair parts, but thought the control board had failed. I replaced the control board and the freezer has been working properly for several days. I haven't decided whether to keep or return the unused parts. I damaged the paint removing the electrical control. There must be a trick to protect the paint from the putty knife and screwdriver. Read more

Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap.
