GE guy says all these models do this and there's no fix for it, so we have clean out the ice periodically... Like the 1940s pre auto defrost. Directs defrost water from the evaporator to the drain pan below your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, damaged, or clogged to prevent water pooling.
Pulled down the existing drain tube and installed new one. Tight area so it requires two hands to push up and attach the new tube. Protective grille cover that mounts over the temperature sensor in your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly shield the sensor.
Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. All five thermistors indicated ok on diagnostic also, but I read more than one time "replace the thermistors no matter what if your FF section isn't cooling". Rubber grommet that mounts the evaporator or condenser fan motor to its bracket. Replace when worn, cracked, or missing to reduce vibration and noise.
Condenser fan stopped on my big 2003 Monogram 4 foot wide ZIS480D Refrigerator. It is top mounted. The fridge had to be rolled out. 20 screws removed and the top sheet metal to get at the condenser. That was the only way to get at it. Works like new now. Read more
Refrigerator not cooling or compressor clicking on and off? This compressor kit restores cooling. Requires certified technician with specialty tools.
Replaces the cracked or warped crisper drawer frame that supports the glass shelf above vegetable drawers and forms the rails for smooth drawer sliding.
The new replacement parts were absolutely perfect! Plus, the new drawer had a molded-in reinforcement in the same spot the old drawer broke - design improvement that should keep the new drawer safe much longer. Replacement was a snap - just slide out the old, slide in the new. The real advantage was, while we were at it, we cleaned out all the old bottles, produce, leftovers, etc, so that the refrigerator is now as clean inside as the day we bought it.
