Changed fan motor, rubber grommets, and dust cover. It sounded like the vibrating sound was being caused by the motor. But, come to find out I had a chipped blade on one of the fan blades. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. Pop out the old switches with a putty knife pressing down on the tab, grabbed with pliers to pull out, disconnect the wires and connect new switches, pressing back in place. Read more

Check compressor with my Hotwire kit I made when I worked for GE. When removing the compressor relay it broke in pieces. Ordered and replaced new relay, overload & run capacitor. Still did not work. Check if there’s power to compressor and found no voltage. Took control board out and found a component burnt. Ordered and replaced control board. Everything is back to normal. Love your service. My refrigerator is 13 years old and has always been a pain. The shelf above the ice maker broke last year which caused the ice maker to keep making ice even when the bin was full (the shelf keeps the ice contained which causes the ice buildup to shut off the ice maker). Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. When I took it apart I found that the drive cup was cracked, the helix lock plate hole was reamed out and the ice deflector spring was broken. The biggest problem was the helix had slipped down the shaft and allowed the end of the shaft to bore a hole in the housing which made it a bear to get out. Others have had the same problem. Once I got past that obstacle, it was simple to replace all the parts and it's working like normal again. Very helpful video explaining the repair. Read more

The hinge broke on the ice dispenser funnel and housing. I took them off and replace them, putting the old switches and bulb in the new housing. It took some time to put the return spring back because it does not appear in the assembly diagram. Once working, it secures to the door with 4 screws, and worked as it should. I ordered a replacement auger from AppliancePartsPros.com. Upon receipt of the new auger, I watched the repair video and took the ice crusher apart. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video.
