Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". Dishwasher overflowing or leaking from the door? A faulty float can cause overfill issues. This float controls water level and prevents flooding.
Thanks to appliancepartspros.com the dishwasher was able to be repaired quickly and under budget. I removed the motor pump assembly and replaced it. I was also able to change out the faulty flood switch and replace the seals to stop the leak. The appliance is once again good as new and ready to run a new load of dishes. Read more
Replaces a cracked, broken, or missing dishwasher vent cover that mounts on the inner door panel. Shields the exhaust opening and directs airflow.
I started thinking the obvious things first, bad door gasket, or a leak from the drain hose. I ran a rinse cycle and lay on the floor and watched for the water to come out. It trickled out from the bottom of the door. After researching it on the internet, I thought that maybe the door behind the vent cover was jammed in the open position and water was making it way through the vent and down the duct at the bottom of the door. I took the outer door panel off and could see rust on some of... Read more

Dishwasher had begun going through the cycles with not enough water in the chamber. Suspect was the water inlet valve. Checked the AppliancePartsPros video for this repair and ordered the valve from them. It arrived in a timely manner -as usual- and I pulled the dishwasher out, removed the kick toe cover, then the structural brace behind it then removed the valve. Installed the new valve, replaced the bracket and the toe cover and dish washer is back in service like brand new. Wife was ready to... Read more

Secures the tower heater assembly at the bottom of your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, stripped, or missing to prevent leaks and ensure stable mounting.
This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I... Read more
