This part is a control board that is made for use on microwave units. The purpose of this part is to control all of the appliance functions. This includes heating, lighting, and turntable operation.When this part goes bad, the microwave will not work in some way or at all. This includes any of the functions including cooking properly, turning the lights on and off, or operating the turntable. This specific control board is compatible with microwaves that are manufactured by the General Electric brand. This includes the Hotpoint and RCA brands also. It is sold individually is comes directly from the manufacturer as a high-quality replacement part.
This, by the way, is the 2nd replacement of the Control Board for the "Top of the Line" and very expensive GE Profile Microwave Model JVM1790SK. Also, the door removal is easier on the GE: just lift and slide out. The process of disassembling the door and installing the handle are exactly the same as shown in the video.
