The GE latch handle is an OEM replacement part responsible for allowing the opening and closing of the dishwasher door. Located on the inner door panel, this part ensures that the dishwasher door latches securely when the machine is in operation, preventing any leaks or disruptions in the cleaning process. Additionally, it provides a convenient means for users to open and close the dishwasher, allowing easy access to load and unload dishes.
This GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
This part fixes the following symptoms
- Difficulty in opening or closing the dishwasher door.
- The door not staying securely closed during a wash cycle.
- Visible damage to the latch handle.

Broken door spring Richard D. • Olympia , WA • October 24, 2015
I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros; it arrived in three working days. I turned off the power and shut off the water to the dish washer, took off the toe guard and unscrewed the appliance from the countertop. I hoped that I could pull the dish washer out from under the counter without disconnecting the water and wiring as I had seen done in the video. Luckily, I didn't have to disconnect them and with a little effort I was able to pull the dish washer out so I could work on it. ...

Replaced The conduit Carrier Mid, Conduit Spray Arm Mid and the Middle Spray Arm Assembly.
All in less than 1/2 hour. Although, I think the main problem was the Conduit Carrier Mid which was distorted.
By the way, I was surprised that I received my parts the very next day after I ordered them.

Leaking water Stephen M. • Vineland , NJ • April 19, 2021
This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I...

Flashing selection light: i think it fixed the problem by changing out the heating element Michael A. • Henderson , NV • April 19, 2015
Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher.
Service Manual for GE Dishwasher-EDW4000 was found on the following webpage.
http://www.applianceaid.com/pdf/serv-man-EDW4000.pdf
Gives enough information to test out the dishwasher. Read it, check out Factory Test Mode.
GE should have given this out as a normal User Manual. The usual user manual lack anything to help troubleshoot a problem.
