Removed dishwasher from it niche, examined the bottom, and found out what parts I needed. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken door spring   Richard D. • Olympia , WA • October 24, 2015

I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros; it arrived in three working days. I turned off the power and shut off the water to the dish washer, took off the toe guard and unscrewed the appliance from the countertop. I hoped that I could pull the dish washer out from under the counter without disconnecting the water and wiring as I had seen done in the video. Luckily, I didn't have to disconnect them and with a little effort I was able to pull the dish washer out so I could work on it. ... Read more

Dishwasher Door Latch Assembly (Dual Switch)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WD13X10061

This door latch assembly secures the dishwasher door and contains two interlock switches that signal the control when the door is fully closed. Replacing a worn latch restores consistent door engagement so cycles can start and run correctly.

  • Locks the door closed and keeps it from opening during operation
  • Houses two micro switches that confirm door-closed status to the control
  • Common symptoms: dishwasher won't start, needs pressure on the door to run, stops when jostled, or won't latch securely
  • Restores reliable door closure and proper safety interlock function

What's included: 1 door latch assembly with dual micro switches. Installation notes:

  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • Remove inner door panel screws to access the latch area
  • Note wire positions on both switches; move connectors to the same terminals on the new assembly
  • After installation, verify latch engagement with the door strike and test a short cycle

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water   Stephen M. • Vineland , NJ • April 19, 2021

This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I... Read more
