I looked for a site that sold replacement parts for my make of GE refrigerator. I found AppliancePartsPros, and was very surprised at how organized it was. A cap handle is a feature on refrigerators that allows the user to operate the device easily. The cap handle is located on the lower portion of the door handle. It is a largely cosmetic item, but it is also an access point if the door handle has to be removed. It covers the screws that hold the handle in place.A visual inspection will determine the condition of a cap handle. The replacement of this component is a quick and straightforward process. If there is an existing cap handle, remove it entirely first. Clean the area where the new cap handle will be placed. Align the part in the proper position and apply pressure. It will snap into place when done correctly. This cap handle is a genuine OEM replacement part. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer. The cap handle is made of durable materials and sold as an individual unit. This cap handle fits on various models of refrigerators. It is compatible with appliances manufactured by General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA.
Super easy took less than 5 minutes to install all parts! Every part was correct and fit beautifully. I used a razor blade to cut the ends of the water line before placing the union connector, other than that no tools required. Be sure to fill the water filter before install to minimize the air explosion that I experienced, just blew water all over me as I was running the water to clear the line. Drain at least a gallon and a half before consumption, you will see a color and clarity change. Read more
Replaced motor and solenoid cube along with dispenser auger. Simply watched video on repair and installation and really had no problem. My refrigerator is so old that one of the holes in the motor did not align properly. Had to drill another hole to mount the motor to the housing, took ten minutes. The ice auger took the longest as I was afraid of breaking the plastic housing trying to get the tabs to release. Had to watch the video twice to make sure I got the blades back in the right order.... Read more
