The auger gearbox shaft had a spot that was stripped of threads which prevented the auger drive from spinning the ice down the chute. I replaced the auger motor/gearbox assembly, the auger drive as it had to be cut off the shaft, and the 3 mount bolts that hold it all in place. Whole job took 30 minutes from start to finish which included cutting off the drive bracket. Read more

Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Evaporator fan motor in our freezer was bad. Ordered new one with 2 day delivery and had it in 2 days. Thankfully it was very easy to get to from the front of the freezer. There are 3 different options for same motor with different wire harnesses. I bought the cheapest option and then snipped and reconnected the wires to the existing harness. That saved us $50.
