Went to the GE website and found the diagram and operating manuals for my model of microwave . Located the necessary parts that needed to be replaced and then purchased them on AppliancePartsPros.com at a savings. Repair was a 15 minute event and microwave now enters cooking mode and door shuts and stays shut just like before it was broken. Read more

I purchased two lamp sockets and two lamp bulbs and fixed the microwave myself. It took approximately 25 minutes to change out the sockets and put the new bulbs in. My lights on my microwave are working perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Read more

Lay the door on a table with a napkin or towel face down so it will not scratch. To get to the latch, the inner panel through which the latch pokes out needs to be removed.... Read more
I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). I then cleaned any visible carbon deposits and replaced the cover and fan, using the old stirrer fan holder as it appeared OK. However, I was unable to rotate the cover into the locked position so I could not insert... Read more
