I goggled why my microwave would not heat and found an article on Appliance pros of 3 possibilities. 2 easy to fix..so I started with the first one which was the door switches. Followed the instructions and found the switches,removed them, brought them to my local Ace hardware to check connectivity. 2 of the 3 switches where bad. First off this appliance is 16 years old. The replacement machine is no longer made in the color we need, also the new ones rated very poorly. After taking the appliance apart I discovered the high voltage capacitor had been leaking, probably the odor I had been noticing. Ordered the handle (part #AP4412082), unscrewed the top and bottom screws on the microwave door, and screwed the new one on. I noticed that the new handle is all black plastic, so there wont be a chance for any lining to unravel. Looks great! Read more
