A former repair man deleted the grommets from the motor mount plate, the spring fastening the motor to the bracket broke the screw inside the motor and once the motor fell out of place the drive to the the transmission was broken. Read more

I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. Replaced dogs & cap seal. I also replaced Spring retainer since it was worn and I had it apart. Easy repair. Used a screwdriver to pop off fabric softener cap. socket to remove the agitator. I used a flathead screwdriver to remove the spring from the retainer. I cleaned everything and reassembled. It was a very easy repair. Saved at least $100. doing it myself. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more

The bolt that holds the agitator and the agitator cam was rusted in place so it made the project way more difficult than it should have been. Had to cut the agitator off the shaft and cut the head of the frozen bolt off. Thankfully, Appliance Pros had all three parts I needed. Once the parts arrived it only took ten minutes to fix. Since the house was going to be full for Christmas, the fast shipping really, really helped. Was able to get it done before the guests arrived. Read more
