This transient suppressor is a protective electrical module that helps protect a range of appliance's control electronics from voltage spikes and electrical interference, reducing the chance of component damage and erratic operation. What it does:
First I measured the static resistance from the hot and neutral blades on the plug. Using Ohm's Law I found the stove was pulling almost 10 amps with nothing turned on. I took the access panel off the back of the stove to inspect the wiring. It didn't take long to spot the charred suppressor board. Once I removed it I saw a capacitor had broken loose. Looking close I saw another capacitor had ruptured. Time to get a new board. Read more

Removed stove back panel, removed fan guard from inside oven, removed 2 attaching screws holding element to rear oven wall. disconnected spade clips from rear side of element contacts ( back side of stove), removed failed element, installed new element and reversed the disassembly process.
