Raised the leveling feet so the wheels were now on the floor, rolled the 7' tall beast out from the wall, turned off the water valve, unplugged the unit, and used a crow bar to lift each side enough to put a 2x4 block under the front feet so I'd have room to remove and replace the valve. Removed upper control panel in top front of fridge ( 3 screws ) unplugged board ( 2 connectors ) swapped in new board . just slides into 2 slots . and reassembled . the plastic diffuser that goes in the rear top left corner of fridge redirects the air down the back of all the shelves instead of just top shelf towards the door . seems to work better , more even temp on all shelves . First replaced start capacitor but that did not work, the start kit which has a relay and overload protector is what was needed. The relay is actually the only part that was bad I believe. After pulling the relay off the compressor you could shake it and it rattled, the new one did not. Really pretty easy and definitely cheaper than a service call. Read more

Replaced the defrost heater from another model. It was the same heater with a different plug so I changed out the plug. Also changed the thermistor, thermostat, and defrost timer. I have been working on this for a few weeks testing each part. So far everything is working great. The defrost heater rates a 4, the other parts are between a 1 and 2.
