This replacement part is a control board for an ice maker. Control boards serve as the main computer that controls the functions of the ice machine. Before installing this part, unplug the ice maker and pull it away from the wall. Then unthread screws of the access cover to the control panel. Use a putty knife to pry the cover off and proceed to remove the screws securing the top panel. Use a nut driver to remove the rear panel. Lift the top panel up and have someone hold it upright. Remove the screws that hold the control housing on the top panel. Once control housing has been released, remove the screws securing the grounding wire to set the panel aside. Then with a Phillips head screwdriver, unthread the screws that hold the control board. Depress the tab to release the board. Note the orientation of the wire connectors and disconnect them from the board. Re-secure the wire connectors to their correct terminals and pop the new control board back in place. Reinstall the panels that were removed. This genuine replacement part is a control board compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand ice machines.
I had to replace the control board. The repair estimate from a local appliance company was $530.00. So I decided to order the part here for $200 and do the installation myself. Everything on the control board is "plug and play" and very simple ONCE you have access to it. However, gaining access to the board is the tricky part. Unless you have the long enough tools, it can be a real challenge. I had to first remove the water drain unit. Next, the ice cutting wire cover. Then remove the ice... Read more

Ordered a new level control sensor probe and installed it. Had to remove a number of screws to get the old one out and insert the new one. They did not look alike so I was a bit worried we had the wrong part but it works great. Now our ice machine fills the bed in to the leveler and stops running until the ice falls below that line. The tubing connectors were unfamiliar to me, and I tried to pry out the tubing connector instead of researching the proper method. These connectors turned out to be very simple to remove. Simply hold the insert against the device while pulling the tube out. The new tube was installed in about 3 minutes by just pushing it into the valve port, and connecting the other end to the standard hose fitting on the water supply . The part ordered was an exact fit for my Jenn-Air under counter ice... Read more
My ice make would not circulate water from the reservoir to the evaporator plate. The pump tested fine. Upon closer inspection a wire connector was found to be bad. It was not a replaceable connector so I had to buy the whole wiring harness. There must have been a condensation drip that landed on the connector and corroded the wires at the connector. Check all your plastic connectors for corrosion. I replaced same with dialectic grease added and now it works fine again! Read more
