Removed shaft with slide hammer and inspected the yoke and gearing replaced the shaft and seals with the shaft kit and replaced the tub bearing. 32 years and still running strong Maytag yeah!!!! Doubt the newer ones will run as long thanks for having the parts. Read more
I took the cover off the transmission and determined that the only possible knocking had to be coming from the yoke. I ordered a new yoke and all the tub seals needed to put it back together like new. I also ordered a new drive pulley bearing because this bearing is always turning whenever the washer is used.
