Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. Cushions contact between washer lid and top panel. Replace if cracked, missing, or worn to prevent slamming noise and protect the finish from damage.
Removed lid sanded down all rust spots, taped over the printed instructions on the inside of the lid, washed with alcohol and spray painted with appliance white epoxy paint. Replaced the plastic hinge-balls and one of the lid support/bumper grommet. It was actually easier to install the lid than removing it; used a small amount of grease to hold both balls in place, by holding the lid vertical and placing the left side to the inserted ball and then pushing the right side down. We watched the video before we purchased the parts for this project. We wanted to make sure exactly what parts we would need. Thanks for having this information available. We purchased the mounting stem repair kit,,tub bearing kit, 3 new bolt/washers that hold the outer tub in place and the spanner wrench. Cleaned everything... 1. Sleeve for input, Injector valve, nozzle and seal for input fixed this problem. Probably the main part that was the trouble was a deformed Injector Valve which is a rubber tube with an internal retention groove at the wide part that grips the Nozzle. The Sleeve and the Nozzle are hard plastic parts that basically looked fine, but I replaced them anyway while I was in there. Small drive gear inside the washer transmission gearcase that meshes with mating gears. Replace when worn, stripped, or damaged to restore power transfer.
American appliances are very easy to fix in comparison to imported ones. Just open the washer and take de transmission cover out change the pinion inside removing a simple retainer. In the agitator there is a screw that you loosen it take it out, then de tub and take the shaft out and put a new seal and a new c clamp and reinstall everything back. Top-loading washers are very easy to fix in comparison to front-loading washers that are very difficult to fix. Read more

Here's the story. All my appliances except the dryer broke. Yeah. talk about bad luck. First I tried to fix the refrigerator. Replaced both motherboard and inverter board.
