If your refrigerator shows an ER RF error code or won't cool properly, this fan motor assembly restores airflow. Moderate DIY difficulty repair.
According to LG site error code is Refrigerator Fan. I removed the current fan by taking out the shelves. Then removing the bottom left track that is held in by 2 screws and a tab. Then you remove the plenum in the back. To do so, remove 2 screws under that hold the middle rack support. You need to lift up the covers that cover the screws. Once you have done that, pull down on the plenum, then pull forward and remove. You need to un-plug the fan to remove the plenum. Once that is... Read more

Very helpful video from a link on your website (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBIv0bxEhkE), and saved me a major repair bill. My journey started with an effort to replace just the water dispenser button, which failed because the fifth post on the back side of the button (not the four posts which hold the button in place--it's the extra rectangular piece visible near the repairman's pinkie finger at 3:04) had broken off, and it is this piece which reaches and moves the actuator for the water... OMG, there were videos to tell me just how and what to take off to get to the repair. It was amazing. It was a challenge knowing I could do it as a woman. We ended up changing about 6 to 8 parts..ice maker, water valve, three fans, thermostats. Was about to change out the control board when I found out the compressor was still in warranty. Unplugged frig to check connections, everything was ok. When I plugged it back in, nothing worked and the display and ice maker were flickering and clicking. Unplugged the display connector on the main board and could hear clicking from the main board itself. Replacing the main board and capacitor fixed it. I only replaced the capacitor as a precaution. it may not have been bad, but I did it for good measure. Everything is working great now and I don't have to buy a new refrigerator. Read more
