I replaced the door hinges, liner and gasket, but none of these solved what I believe is a flawed design. It took two repair attempts to fix the dryer. At first, I noticed that the rear felt seal was completely worn out, so I thought that extra friction between the tub and the rear panel might be causing the motor to have to work too hard and overheat. When I found the dryer off Craigslist, I didn't notice until recently the front panel plug was missing. I ordered the plug from Appliance Parts Pros, got the part & installation took seconds as it was a snap-in part. Couldn't be any happier. Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. I opened the top of the dryer (after watching the video on your website) and replaced the lever on the switch. Removed two screws near the lint filter, used a putty knife to release fasteners under the top and raised the top. Held it in place with a short piece of board then removed the two screws holding in the switch and lever. Replaced the broken lever with the new one and put it all back together. I'd replaced the motor that I purchased here about a month ago. It worked fine for a few weeks, then it just stopped and wouldn't start. I searched on the Internet and found the 3 most likely culprits. Since the dryer is 24+ years old, I decided to just purchase all 3 and replace them.
