Replaces the upper tub ring that mounts on top of the outer tub as a splash guard. Order a new ring if yours is cracked, broken, or no longer securely attached.
This was the second attempt at fixing this problem. The first repair and parts were generated by listing the problem and reviewing the potential corrections, listed on the web site. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
