Thanks to Appliance Parts Pros® I was able to replace that old water valve drip with a new valve. Simply unplug power cord, turn off water, disconnect hoses from machine, with front off machine and top unscrewed, tilt top back and unplug wires to old valve remove screws holding valve from back of machine, remove small hose from old valve to top ring and replace if worn. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. Not one to patch a job, I ordered all seal kit, bearing kit, new shaft keeper, transmission oil, spanner wrench. I have the newer version of the agitator shaft so it does not have the groove for the internal clip. I Custom ground a thick washer so that as the agitator shaft goes into the transmission it fit flush into the slot for the old style shaft clip. I had to take the cover off of the transmission to see how the shaft was held in place. After discovering there is a plastic clip that holds the shaft in place i ordered the parts. replaced the shaft and the put the new plastic clip in place, made my own gasket and then put the transmission cover back on. easy fix and saved a lot of money. This was a very easy fix. Two screws to get the front off of the washer. Removed one side of the tensioner spring. Loosened two screws for the motor and two screws for the pump. I decided to replace the agitate belt even though it wasn't broken.. So, I removed that belt from the pulleys and the removed the broken belt. then just reversed the process to install the belts. it toke me less than 30 minutes and my washer was back in service.
