This is a drive motor that is made specifically for use on washing machine units. This part causes the spinning action of the spin basket and drives the agitator in various modes. One sign that the drive motor has gone bad is if the washing machine will not spin. If unsure which component is the culprit of the problems being experienced, this part can be tested using a multimeter. It should measure between 3.5 to 6 ohms, through both clockwise and counterclockwise. It will need to be replaced if it measures infinite resistance. It is important to unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before attempting to diagnose, repair, or replace any parts. Wear work gloves for this process. This drive motor is compatible with washing machines that have been manufactured by Kenmore, Whirlpool, Amana, Crosley, and Maytag. This part is sold individually and is sourced straight from the manufacturer.
