This electric surface element replaces a failed top burner on your range or cooktop. Installing a new element restores dependable, even heat and responsive temperature control when a burner won't heat or behaves inconsistently.
Installed replacement burner. Not a one-to-one fit where the wiring is concerned but everything needed to effect the change out was provided with the part. It is important to make notes of what was connected to what on the old one and to compare that to the new one. I used a download of the wiring diagram to good effect because it has the color code for the wiring on it. I am an engineer and can read such things which the average DIY'r might not be able to do so the notes will help. The... Read more

I did some research on the internet to find the part I needed. I came upon your web site Applianceparts pros.com and watched you videos. After watching your video on how to replace the broiler element, I ordered the broiler element. It came in a few days. I replaced the broiler element with my 12 year old son's help (always use every opportunity to teach my kids) in 50 minutes. Plugged the oven and turned on the broiler. This 10-32 terminal block nut fastens wire lugs to the appliance's terminal studs. Replacing a missing, stripped, or corroded nut restores a tight, reliable connection and helps prevent heat damage or intermittent power at the connection.
The oven temperature was low and the heating time excessive. However, the range display showed the requested 400F, even though the oven was really 250F. Because the oven displayed an inaccurate temperature, I ordered an oven sensor, a heating element, and a terminal block. Replacing the heating element fixed the problem. The element I received was the same shape and size, but the supports were not the same. However, I think it must have been a design change after mine was manufactured... Read more

New part arrived promptly in two days (which is good because wife was whining about Christmas dinner and all. Had to take door apart which was no big deal and the screws for the handle were accessed from the inside. Whole job took about half an hour. The lesson to be learned here is when you pull the range away from the wall, open the bottom drawer slightly and pull from there; not on the handle. Read more

This auxiliary relay is an electrical switch used by the control to route line voltage to high-demand components. Replacing a weak or failed relay restores reliable power delivery for consistent heating and fan operation, depending on the model.
I first tested and replaced the temperature sensor. Since this is a slide-in range, I managed to pull it out just enough to access the back without disconnecting the downdraft and gas line. (For wall models this would not be the case.) Unfortunately, that did not do it. Next I replaced the lower heating element because it was a little below the ohms level it should be at. No go. So far, both of these were pretty easy to do and were relatively inexpensive so I wasn't too frustrated. Then I... Read more

I had to remove the oven door, which I learned is made to come off without tools. Then took out the bottom by removing two screws and lifting. Removed the screws attaching the igniter, pulled wires thru back until I could get the connector and disconnect. When the new igniter arrived, I had to change the connector. I cut the one off the old one, and spliced to the new one using solder and shrink tubing. Just reverse the procedure to install. I replaced the screws with new ones. Read more
