The tub in my washer was unbalanced all of the time Linda J. • Beaverton , MI • October 26, 2014
Replaced 4 of the suspension springs with new brackets. I looked up my washer, looked at the diagrams, watched your video which made things a lot easier! Took the washer apart, found the problem, ordered the parts from you and the washer was put back together and working within 3 days! Love your website! This is also the second time we have used your website and were extremely happy both times! Saved us a lot of money!

The Washer Lid Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It provides a tight seal between the washer lid and the tub, preventing water from leaking out during the wash cycle.
Causes of a bad washer lid seal can include wear and tear from regular use, exposure to harsh detergents, or damage due to improper closing of the lid.
Symptoms of a bad washer lid seal include:
- Water leaking from around the washer lid during cycles
- Visible cracks or tears in the seal
- Excessive moisture or dampness around the washer
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Washing machine: had to replace lid seal and splash guard Jack K. • Scottsdale , AZ • October 27, 2014
These parts went on by hand. It helps to have an extra set of hands to put on the Splash Guard, and sinch the zip tie that holds it in place. Special thatks to AppliancePartsPros for having the correct parts for my 12yr old machine, inexpensively priced, and for providing FAST delivery!

Maytag washer only rinsing with hot water Jeffrey L. • San Diego , CA • August 03, 2015
Per a similar story and recommendation from one of the guys at AppliancePartsPros, I replaced the temperature control switch in the rear of the machine. Most time consuming part was locating the screws I dropped! Washer works like new again. Easy fix.
Second success in a month...thank you again for the guidance and help and especially the Repair Forum!

A bunch of things. Leaking, clutch was slipping and not spinning very well, and the brake was not engaging.. Alan V. • Melrose Park , IL • November 11, 2022
I installed all the necessary parts that I received from you and it works great, now. I received the parts in good time without overnighting them. I had the whole washing machine apart and went through it all before ordering parts. Tear down and assembly was easy. I just took my time. The washer is 17 years old and was well built. It was worth it compared to what is on the market today, and cheaper.

My washer would fill up but would not agitate or spin Justin G. • Anchorage , AK • February 23, 2015
I tested the switches and determined it was the Drive Motor switch that was failing. The repair took a first timer 45 minutes to replace. Pretty easy in my humble opinion

Had to bang the washer lid to get it to go. James C. • Manilla , IN • March 23, 2020
We replaced the lid hinges with new bushings as this is a very old machine and they were worn out affecting the position of the hinges and thereby affecting the lid switch.
Also replaced the lid switch, which was a breeze with the help of the video.
Thanks to the Covid 19, I was bored and fixed the problem because I had to stay home and do stuff that I was putting off.
