The auger motor failed and wouldn't turn. I replaced the motor and it works without a problem. Make sure you dont throw away the motor boot or buy one if you don't have one. Otherwise, the temperature will freeze up the motor and lead to premature failure. Read more

Determined the helix lock was free wheeling on auger helix dispenser not allowing auger to dispense ice properly. Auger also replaced because it had some badly worn areas around the blade assembly. Using videos available for instructions on how to disassemble auger dispenser the job was fairly easy. While I had the assembly removed I also replaced the drive cup which appeared worn. The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting.
