Compressor Kit
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR87X10226

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bad compressor   Harvey K. • Reno , NV • October 10, 2016

Hired a repair professional. This is an expensive fridge so I wanted to repair rather than replace. The estimated cost for the repair was quite high, but at least it was itemized. I went on-line and found Appliance Parts Pros, and bought the major plus one minor part from them. I arranged with my local repair guy to use the parts I bought on-line. RESULT: I saved $370 by buying my own parts, probably could have saved more with a little more effort. Appliance Parts Pros was easy to deal with,... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken dial chill pan   Matt B. • Wellington , FL • August 22, 2015

There was no repair video for this fix so I had to figure it out myself. I removed all the shelves out of the refrigerator, then the light cover. The air vent cover lifts up and out from the bottom(reason why I removed all shelving. Then I took out the broken dial pan chill which just snaps in to the control arm. Replaced everything and then put the knob pan chill on. Read more

Using videos available for instructions on how to disassemble auger dispenser the job was fairly easy. While I had the assembly removed I also replaced the drive cup which appeared worn. All the parts I ordered were received in two days. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The fan in the lower draw was not working   Michael K. • Trinity , FL • February 16, 2025

I replaced the fan and heater element. The replacement was not an exact match. I had to adjust the parts to get the harness to fit the plug was not the correct size. I cut it off and used the existing plug. Not a big deal and everything else fit. Pretty good for a twenty year old replacement. Also the heater element was a different shape but it fit as is. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ge cafe freezer fine fridge not   Rusty D. • Gallatin , TN • November 15, 2018

The short... Our GE refrigerator has a dual evaporator. Which means there is an evaporator in both the freezer and the refrigerator. So inadequate cooling in the refrigerator is most likely not related to the freezer at all like it is with models that do not have dual evaporators. After extensive research, diagnosing and testing I was able to determine that the refrigerator evaporator thermistor was not working properly. I replaced all four thermistors (two in the refrigerator and two in the... Read more
