Shock absorber installs at the base of your washer to dampen vibrations during spin cycles. Replace if worn, leaking fluid, or damaged to restore stability.
Replaced broken drum spider and shaft assembly (part # AP4449265). Burning rubber smell was caused by spinning drum touches door boot seal. Also replaced all 4 shock absorbers just as a precaution. Replacing tub seal may not be absolutely necessary but it's cheap and easy. be aware of those razor sharp metal frames. Read more

Bought and installed a new drain hose. It required removing the back access panel and loosening a pinch clamp that holds the hose on its male outlet end, and threading the hose out the back of the washer. Read more

At first I thought it was the bearing, but when I got it apart I found the main shaft had corroded from possibly the soap powder and bleach combo build up on the part. After I cleaned it all up I found one of the three mounting braces was cracked and causing the unit to shake during the spin cycle.
