I took the plastic vent piece off the front of the microwave & removed the charcoal filter & put the new one in. Made sure that while I had it open I cleaned all the built up grease out of it before closing it back up. Took the 2 grease filters from underneath the microwave & replaced with the new ones. Replaced lower door interlock bracket, cam(which was redesigned), spring(I believe this was the problem) and switch. When the door opens the spring moves the cam which releases the switch"on" Button which turns on the interior light when you close the door, the latch which protrudes out from door pushes into the cam which rotates to turn off the light switch and enables operation of the microwave. Old design cam would push past the light switch and the weakened spring would not push it back... Read more

I ordered a new magnetron and a new capacitor and after they arrived I set to work. I took plenty of pictures with my phone to remind me how the components came apart but it was pretty straight forward. Once the new parts were in and everything was reassembled the microwave worked good as new. The repair was less than a third the cost of replacement and no special tools are required. Just be careful to discharge the capacitor. This website is a great resource. Read more

I took the bottom of the microwave off and removed the old holder. I then matched it to the correct part by model number and serial number. Then I installed the new part. Read more

The grill vent is only held in place by two screws. Super simple fix. Remove the two screws and the old grill vent, position the new vent and put the two screws back in. Replacing the cord required that cabinet to be removed. Lots of screws on the back, top and bottom. Once the screws were removed, the cabinet pulled back.
