It is difficult (if not impossible) to remove the electronic switches from the hard plastic latches. I replaced all three switches and both the upper and lower latches I also replaced the main 20 amp ceramic fuse which blew out when the latch/switches failed. Read more

Obtained the replacement motor and tray coupler from Appliance Parts Pro. Video of the typical replacement was very helpful to show what to expect and how to replace the motor and coupler. The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced.. Read more

When the new bulb didn't want to go in, I felt around and realized the base of the old bulb was still in there. With some effort I got it out and new bulb in, Light cover fit fine, but did not come with a screw to hold it in. That would have been helpful. Read more

Removed the microwave from the upper cabinet, then (partially) removed the black cover. We were able to access and remove the old mounting nut from inside the unit, and clip on the new one! Read more

I ordered a new magnetron and a new capacitor and after they arrived I set to work. I took plenty of pictures with my phone to remind me how the components came apart but it was pretty straight forward. Once the new parts were in and everything was reassembled the microwave worked good as new. The repair was less than a third the cost of replacement and no special tools are required. I looked up the problem on the Appliance Pros forum and it sounded like the magnetron needed to be replaced. We looked up and ordered the part from Appliance Pros and replaced the magnetron 2 days later when we received it. It was not a difficult replacement but was tume consuming to take it down and remove the cover to get to the part. Within about 90 minutes, we had our microwave back on duty! Read more
