This thermistor is a refrigerator temperature sensor that monitors internal air temperature so the control board can regulate cooling. Replaces a failed sensor to help restore accurate temperature readings and more consistent cooling. What it does:
- Senses internal refrigerator temperature and sends a variable resistance signal to the control board
- Helps the control system cycle the compressor and fans correctly for stable temperatures
- Commonly replaced when refrigerator runs too cold, too warm, or has irregular cooling cycles
- Can address temperature-error codes or defrost control issues when the sensor is faulty
What's included: One thermistor temperature sensor Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before inspecting or replacing the sensor
- Handle the sensor and wiring harness carefully to avoid damage to the probe or connectors
- Install in the original sensor mounting location and secure wiring away from moving parts
